Chris was elected to the State Assembly in August 2011 in a Special Election for former State Representative Joe Parisi’s seat. Almost immediately, she was redistricted into a new district, the 76th Assembly District, which includes the Isthmus and parts of the northside, downtown Madison, the UW Campus and the near westside Vilas neighborhood.
Chris earned her law degree in 1995 from UW-Madison after receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. Prior to serving as your State Representative, Chris practiced law at several private law firms before becoming the Public Policy Director for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin.
Chris and her husband, Jim, a professor of History and Environmental Studies, live on the near eastside of Madison, where Chris has lived for almost 25 years. They are the proud parents of two boys – Sam, a fourth grader, and Ben, a kindergartner. Chris and Jim are both actively involved in the community and enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors with their two sons.
Chris has a life-long passion for advancing human rights, and has had the opportunity to live around the world and the country doing so.
